I have been a full time bookseller since 1982, formerly in partnership with John Patterson (we remain great friends) where, between 1982 and 2005 we ran two bookshops; firstly in Bristol, and then in Bath, under the name of Patterson Liddle. The Bath shop was much admired, and was voted into the Top Ten of The Independent’s ‘Best Places to Buy Antiques’ poll. These days I work on my own from my home in Bristol. I am a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. Most of my business is done at the major fairs run by the ABA and the PBFA, where I regularly meet old shop customers, so do drop by and say hello. As this is the 21st century, you can find me selling a little on Ebay under the elegant title of ‘Patlid’, our old Ebay trading name, which I have retained out of sentiment. I also have stock selections with ABE, Amazon, Antiqbook, Biblio and World Book Market. I don’t claim any particular specialities, although I produce an occasional catalogue of Railway/Canal/Industrial Revolution material, mainly early and scarcer items. I have a good reputation in the trade for selling nice copies of worthwhile books in all price ranges, and all my books are shipped properly packed - no casual jiffy bags here! I am very happy to undertake valuation and probate work, and have been privileged to work with English Heritage, the National Trust and numerous public and private libraries over the years.    Patterson Liddle, Bath Construction by P-Webs ABA, PBFA, ILAB ABA, PBFA, ILAB
